Erickson will remain in Tempe in 2011

Arizona State’s Dennis Erickson will remain the head coach of the Sun Devils next season. When asked about Erickson’s future at ASU on Arizona’s 620 KTAR, school athletic director Lisa Love gave him a strong vote of confidence. “I still support Dennis Erickson you bet I do. You’ve got to allow someone to go through the entire process. I’m impressed, by the way, with the process, the recruiting roster, the level of talent and the stable of redshirts we now are able to have. As opposed to the last two years of playing true high school freshman. It’s been rewarding to watch.”

Erickson’s Sun Devils have struggled this season, winning only four games. With two games remaining on their schedule, the Sun Devils will have to win both in order to become bowl eligible. After winning a share of the Pac-10 title and a Holiday Bowl bid in 2007, Erickson’s Sun Devil’s have yet to return to post-season play. Many in Tempe have become increasingly frustrated and the calls for Erickson’s head are growing more with each loss. With Love’s endorsement, Erickson will have one more year to turn things around and try to bring ASU back from Pac-10 obscurity.
