QB Kellen Moore (#11) is the best player in college football

The Heisman Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the most outstanding player in college football. If the voting were to take place today, there is no question Boise State QB Kellen Moore is the most deserving candidate.

Moore is everything the trophy represents personally and statistically. He is having a monstrous junior year amassing 2,372 yards with 21 TDs leading the Broncos to an 8-0 record. He has remarkable accuracy only throwing 4 INTs in 226 attempts. Moore is a winner going an unprecedented 34-1 as a starter and ranks amongst the nation’s best among active career leaders: 2nd in completion percentage, 67.8%; 3rd in TDs, 85; 5th in completions, 713; and 5th in passing yards, 9,394.

Not only is Moore a statistical phenomenon, but off the field he is the poster boy of college football. Despite national recognition and constant media attention, he has stayed out of trouble unlike Heisman favorites Cameron Newton (pay-to-play) and LaMichael James (domestic violence).

The Heisman goes to the best player on the field, but you would be living under a rock if you didn’t think voters fail to consider off the field actions while in school (i.e., Reggie Bush). Moore is a leader on and off the field. At this point, there is no leader in the locker room more deserving than the Bronco’s Kellen Moore.
