Houston Cougars QB Case Keenum (Jr. 6’2, 210 lbs) can put another accolade under his belt. Last season, he was the 2008 Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year and this season he was selected as the preseason 2009 Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year.
Keenum is coming off of an exceptional sophomore campaign with 8 wins and a victory over Air Force in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl 34-28. Last season, he lead the nation in offense with 5,241 yards; 2nd in passing with 5020 yards; and, 3rd in passing TDs with 44.
This season should prove no different with RB Bryce Bell and WR Tyron Carrier returning in the Cougars’ high-powered offense. Coach Kevin Sumlin will put on another offensive display.
A well deserved congratulations to Case Keenum and the Houston Cougars!
