It looks like some folks in Boise are celebrating prematurely in anticipation of a Broncos win over the Virginia Tech Hokies on Monday night. Earlier this morning, Boise State running backs coach Keith Abu Bhonapha was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. According to the police report, Idaho State Police pulled over and arrested Bhonapha a little before 2:00 a.m. this morning on Meridian Road outside of Kuna.
Per coach Chris Petersen, the 30 year-old RBs coach will not be making the trip to Washington, D.C. for the game. The school issued a statement saying Bhonapha’s absence is “a personnel matter” and did not comment on his status for the remainder of the season.
