Boise's Chris Petersen bans players from Twitter

“I had fun with it, but I’m not having withdrawals. I can go without,” said safety Jeron Johnson. Johnson spoke these words to the Idaho Statesman concerning Boise State head coach Chris Petersen’s decision to ban his players from using the social networking website Twitter this season. Boise State opened fall practices last Friday with one goal in mind: win it ALL.  While some may question the practice of Petersen’s banning of Twitter, the truth remains that the coach wants his team’s full attention and focus on this upcoming season.

Boise State opens the season ranked #5 in the USA Today Coaches’ poll, and many believe that this is Boise’s best team in school history. They also have the best opportunity in school history to compete for a BCS National Championship. All eyes will be on FedEx Field on September 6th watching the highly anticipated Boise State vs. Virginia Tech match-up. Petersen realizes the potential that his team has to make its mark in Boise State and Idaho history and he’s doing everything humanly possible to see that dream fulfilled.
