The attrition rate at Penn State seems to be growing for the Nittany Lion’s WR corp. First, Levi Norwood departed the team earlier this year to be closer to his family at Baylor. Now, it looks like A.J. Price, a Northern Virginia native, was just granted his release from the team with the intentions of transferring to the University of Virginia under head coach Mike London.
Though the Nittany Lions will not feel the effect of these two departures in 2010, the team will be short on the WR depth chart in the following season. As for now, expect to see Graham Zug and Brett Brackett make some big plays as they will be the go-to receivers. Also competing for starting time will be Curtis Drake, Justin Brown, and freshman Shawney Kersey.
The Nittany Lions have left a lot of questions unanswered this spring, but as we have seen throughout the years, Joe Paterno always finds a way to win. Expect to see Penn State fighting for the Big 10 crown alongside Ohio State and Iowa in 2010.
