Flint, Michigan gets set to welcome Ingram
Flint, Michigan is getting ready to welcome their native son. Alabama junior running back Mark Ingram is set to return home to central Michigan this upcoming Saturday and the whole Flint community will honor Mark’s return with a Heisman Homecoming Celebration. The fiesta will be held at Flint’s Atwood Stadium, a historic venue that Jackie Robinson and Jessee Owens once played in.
The Heisman Homecoming Celebration will be held from 12-2pm EDT and will feature Ingram’s HS band and cheerleaders, and members of the current Crimson Tide coaching staff. “We want to welcome Mark home in a big way, and I think we have all the ingredients for it,” said Flint Schools Communications Director Bob Campbell.
Ingram rushed for 1,658 yards and 17 touchdowns last season in route to the Heisman trophy and a national championship.
