WR Scotty McKnight goes down hard during spring practice, the senior star receiver could miss the entire spring with a broken fibula

For all you Colorado fans, you can’t seem to catch a break, unless of course we are talking about a broken fibula. As Thursday’s scrimmage was coming to a close, senior WR Scotty McKnight suffered an injury to his leg. The injury occurred when McKnight was making a sideline catch and was forced out of bounds. He apparently ran into one of the walls and railings that caused him to step awkwardly resulting in his injury. He was helped off the field and did not see action again.

First reports suggested that the leading receiver did not suffer any serious injury, but he was later seen wearing a boot and using crutches.  He even told fellow teammate Tyler Hansen that he broke his fibula and will be sidelined for the entire spring season.

This is a big blow to the Buffaloes as McKnight was the team’s leading receiver hauling in 76 receptions for 865 yards and six TDs last season. As the QB battle between Tyler Hansen and Cody Hawkins still remains the talk of the town, who will these two gunslingers throw the ball to as the Buffs  have no depth at WR and McKnight was the clear go-to guy.

This already is going to be a long spring for Coach Hawkins and an even longer season for the Buffalo faithful.
