London won at Richmond, can he do the same at UVA?

UVA wasted no time in traveling to Westhampton Way to knock on the door of Richmond’s Mike London regarding the Cavaliers’ head coaching vacancy. UVA pressed hard and came strong by immediately offering the coaching job to London to replace the departed Al  Groh–and word on the street is, he is going to take it.

London was UVA’s first choice and for all intensive purposes, their only choice. This is the most logical move as he was an assistant to Groh’s staff for six years and he knows the offensive and defensive schemes treasured by Groh. London also knows the talent of athletes in Virginia and he is a heck of a recruiter, but most importantly, he knows how to coach (i.e., check out the Spiders’ website).

Well played UVA, now let’s see some results.
