Wake Forest has to regroup after a heartbreaking loss to Miami 27-28 this past Saturday. Unfortunately, they will have to regroup without the services of QB Riley Skinner. Skinner’s status remains to be seen after suffering a mild concussion late in the Miami game.
Here is what the school had to say:
Skinner left the game after a hard hit along the Wake Forest sideline with 6:22 remaining in the game and the Demon Deacons holding a 27-21 lead over No. 18 Miami. On the play, Skinner picked up 12 yards on a third-and-eight to give Wake Forest a first down at its own 29. He was replaced at quarterback by fifth-year senior Ryan McManus. Miami scored with 1:08 to play in the game to pull out a 28-27 win over Wake Forest.
Before leaving the game, Skinner was on fire, throwing for 349 yards and 2 TDs. He also had a 7 yard TD run and caught a 17 yard pass. Let’s hope Skinner can get cleared before this week’s huge match-up against ACC foe Georgia Tech.
