New Mexico continues to knock itself out of contention. First, Mike Locksley is serving a one game suspension for punching assistant coach George Barlow. Second, New Mexico’s AD punches the team by throwing a two game suspension to freshman wide receiver Ty Kirk for violation of team rules. The knock out punch is for the fans, because Kirk is the second leading receiver on the team, amassing a team high 206 yards and 1 TD.
Now what on earth are the fans going to watch when UNLV roles into town October 24th. The Lobos are 0-6 for the season and average a paltry 14.5 points per game. Maybe this isn’t the best time to suspend your top offensive threat.
