Matt Grothe is out for the rest of the 2009 season

Matt Grothe will no longer lead the charge for the South Florida Bulls. During their total dominance over Charleston Southern (59-0), Grothe suffered an ACL tear. At first, Grothe’s injury was thought to be a knee sprain, but after further tests, his injury was diagnosed as an ACL tear.

The loss really hurts the Bulls, Grothe is the leader of the squad and an irreplaceable player. With Gorthe going down, it will make winning the Big East title that much more difficult for the Bulls.
