Kentucky freshman LB Ridge Wilson has been charged with fourth-degree assault and has been suspended indefinitely from the football team. The charges stem from an incident that occurred outside of a university dorm on Monday night. A resident of the dorm called the university police and informed them of an altercation taking place outside. The female involved in the incident stayed at the scene and informed the police that Wilson had struck her in the face. Wilson turned himself in on Tuesday after an arrest warrant was issued for him on a fourth-degree assault charge.
Wilson was a crown jewel in Kentucky’s recruiting class this spring and he was only one of 5 true freshman that played in Kentucky’s season opener this past Saturday. If the charges stick, and it is verified that Wilson did in fact strike the victim, his playing days at UK are more than likely over.
