In an attempt to win a game, Coach Paul Wulff continues to shuffle his lineup. The most recent victim was senior QB Kevin Lopina (6’3, 228 lbs.). To replace the senior QB is redshirt sophomore Marshall Lobbestael who, if you’re from the Washington area, will recall was the 2006 Class 4A Player of the Year by the associated press and Seattle Times.
Hopefully, Lobbestael’s presence will spark a somewhat ineffective offense and wake-up the loyal fans at Martin Stadium. It’s clear Lopina was benched for his poor performance on the field. This season, he has only managed 1 TD to his 2 INTs.
On the QB change, coach Paul Wulff is optimistic that his abysmal offense will improve and Lobbestael can run the Wulff spread offense more effectively. We shall see if this QB change makes any difference when SMU comes into town this Saturday.
