Not only did BYU shock the #3 Oklahoma Sooners 14-13, but this crushing blow could prove to be worse as Sam Bradford went down in the second quarter when BYU defender Coleby Clawson leveled him. The clean hit caused Bradford to sprain his throwing shoulder and sidelined him for the remainder of the game.
The Sooners, without their Heisman Trophy winner, proved to be very anemic on offense. Back-up QB Landry Jones stepped in but could not drive the Sooners to victory.Typically, an injury like Bradford’s could keep him off the field for 2-4 weeks. Without Bradford under center, the Sooners are going to have a very long season and it is clear they will have some issues on the offensive side of the ball.
