USC’s starting center Kristopher O’ Dowd, dislocated his right kneecap during a Trojan scrimmage on Monday. The 2008 All Pac-10 Center is expected to undergo an MRI at some point this week which will help to determine a timetable for his return. O’ Dowd suffered the same type of injury to his left kneecap in 2007 that forced him to miss 4 games.
This latest injury is just one of many that have occurred during his time at USC. While this is a hit for SC, the Trojans have some breathing room with seniors Alex Parsons and Jeff Byers who will fill in for O’Dowd in the meantime. USC has battled many injuries as of late which is of concern as they travel to Columbus to play the Ohio State Buckeyes on September 12th. The outcome of that game depends on how healthy the Trojans are on game day.
