Wyoming wants fans to vote on opening day uniform

Vote on what the Cowboys should wear on opening day.

Cowboy Joe and Pistol Pete hope to reignite school spirit after an abysmal 2010 3-9 season (1-7 in MWC play) by urging fans to vote on which uniform to wear on opening day.  The Cowboys are set to open the 2011 season against Weber State on September 3rd.  In anticipation of a successful 2011 campaign and to bolster fan support, head coach Dave Christensen gives fans six uniform combinations and three helmet options to vote on for opening day.

Uniform options include a brown jersey and gold pants set to an all gold uniform.  In case you are wondering, there is no white jersey option because per NCAA rules, those jerseys can only be worn outside of Laramie.  As for the helmets, there is the traditional metallic white helmet with either a brown or gold sticker depicting the “Bucking Horse” or you can elect the all brown helmet.

Wyoming isn’t necessarily known for big-time football, but gimmicks like this to get fans involved is certainly a fun way to open the season.  Here at The Matador, we voted on the all brown uniform to complement the all brown helmet.

Best of luck Cowboys!
