USC drops the Ball

It must be a sign from above. The Trojan’s 2004 BCS Trophy, which is glamorously displayed at Heritage Hall, was slightly damaged the other day. The crystal ball, which sits perched on top of the BCS trophy, mysteriously fell off its pegs and now lays to rest at the foot of the trophy. The school has not released a statement regarding the trophy incident. However, rumor has it, there was a group of Notre Dame fans touring the campus...

More Dirty Pictures of Erin Andrews

Some would say Erin Andrews, the famed ESPN college football reporter, was a victim in the peephole-camera incident when she was unlawfully videotaped walking around nude in her hotel room. It looks like more pictures are surfacing, but this time, they are with her consent. Andrews agreed to do a photo spread for GQ Magazine. Her pictures are quite amusing, in that she’s wearing muddy football attire dressed like one of the boys. This is quite different than her pictures from the peephole incident.

Reason 6,250,000 Tate left the Tar Heels

For a young athlete, Donavan Tate played his cards right and is now going to play professional baseball for the San Diego Padres. However, after 4 days he left to focus on his major league baseball contract. Tate was drafted #3 in this year’s MLB draft. The youngster had $6.25 million...

Navy takes a hit as starting nose guard Nate Frazier (6’3, 292 lbs.) was dismissed from the football team this past Monday. Cmdr. Joe Carpenter, the navy spokesman, confirmed the dismissal and stated “participating on a varsity athletic team is a privilege.” The exact accounts of the dismissal were not released; however, Navy is losing a strong anchor on the defensive side of the line. Hopefully, junior Chase Burge can fill the void. Coach Ken Niumatalolo understands the school’s decision and...

How serious is Hampton’s knee injury?

Iowa’s RB Jewel Hampton was slated to fill the shoes of NFL bound Shonn Greene. However, there is still uncertainty regarding his knee. Mo’ Problems

During spring ball, Coach Jim Leavitt was preparing to unleash his version of the spread offense attack. Now it just may be an aerial attack with little to no running game. At one point, Moise Plancher, Mike Ford, Jamar Taylor, Richard Kelly and Aston Samuels were all fighting for the featured back position in Leavitt’s spread offense. Well in the past three days, the competition pretty much disappeared and not in a good way.  Jamar Taylor is out with a torn ACL and Mike Ford...
