WISCONSIN (-2.5) 24 #11 Iowa 23 Over/Under Total: 47.5 09:00 AM Pacific Time Saturday, Oct-17 Iowa comes into this game unbeaten and Wisconsin is looking to bounce back from their first loss of the year, a closer than the score indicates 13-31 setback at Ohio State (they were out-gained only 4.1 yppl to 4.8 yppl by the Buckeyes). The Badgers have faced a tough schedule of teams and have out-gained those opponents 5.9 yards per play to 5.3 yppl while rating at 0.6...

#6 USC (-10.0) 34 #25 NOTRE DAME 20 Over/Under Total: 49.5 12:30 PM Pacific Time Saturday, Oct-17 Notre Dame actually has a good team this year because their offense is so good, but that attack will have to win the battle against USC’s great defense if they’re going to stay close in this game, as I don’t see the Trojans having any trouble moving the ball and scoring against a worse than average Irish defense. Notre Dame has allowed 6.0 yards per play...

Arizona State shall rise over Washington

The Matador has taken his followers on a wild and bumpy ride going 2-3 in his weekly picks. This week’s lock should get you back some of that lost hard earned money. If you don’t  have faith, you will lose out. Remember folks, gambling is measured by duration. You aren’t going to win everything on one game. I promise you, stick with me until season’s end. You will not be disappointed. This week’s lock is a keeper. Arizona State(-6.5)...

#20 Oklahoma 25 #3 Texas (-3.0) 24 Neutral Site: Dallas Over/Under Total: 51.5 09:00 AM Pacific Time Saturday, Oct-17 Oklahoma has lost 2 games already, but Texas has played a weak schedule and they were out-gained 4.8 yards per play to 5.7 yppl by Texas Tech, the only decent team they have faced. The Longhorns also averaged just 4.8 yppl last week against Colorado’s worse than average defense, which does not bode well for them against a very good Oklahoma defense. I don’t...

South Carolina’s run game weakens

South Carolina has a daunting challenge this Saturday as they travel down to Tuscaloosa to face the #2 Crimson Tide. This challenge just got a little tougher as the university just confirmed that RB Jarvis Giles is suspended for the Alabama game. Per the norm, the suspension is for an undisclosed violation of team rules. It remains to be seen the duration of Giles’ suspension. Giles will certainly be missed as he is an integral part of the offense...

Pike out, Collaros in

QB Tony Pike has sprained his left wrist during tonight’s game against South Florida. The injury occurred after a first half hit on Pike. He tried to return, but ultimately left  the game in the 3rd quarter. Pike has had left arm problems before as he broke his forearm last season and played with a plate and screws holding everything in place. Pike’s replacement Zach Collaros is filling in just fine and is providing a spark as the Bearcats...

Harris is out with a cervical burn

Florida State’s sophomore LB Maurice Harris is ruled out for the remainder of the season. Harris suffered a cervical burn in last week’s game against Georgia Tech and his MRI confirmed the inevitable. The 6’0 200 pound stud was the fifth leading tackler (15 tackles) on the team and played an integral role on special teams. This is a big loss for the Seminoles as their defense is already suspect. Bowden may have to shuffle some personnel to fill...

Penn State’s former top RB Austin Scott is laying down the law after being kicked-off the team and dealing with an alleged sexual assault charge back in 2007. On Tuesday, he filed a civil suit against Penn State, Penn State Police, and Centre County, alleging that the sexual assault charges filed against him damaged his reputation and NFL career. Back in October 0f 2007,  a woman reported that she was sexually assaulted at Scott’s on-campus residence. Criminal charges where filed...
