Big rumors are swirling in Iowa City. There is chatter that the Hawkeyes’ star RB Jewel Hampton is contemplating red-shirting the 2009 season. The Doak Walker Award watch list was just released this afternoon. It is even more absurd than the O’Brien award as 45 running backs are featured on this list. Again, there seems to be a lack of prestige and/or seriousness to be on the watch list when pretty much any back with two feet gets named.
