QB Matt McGloin earns starting job for Penn State?

With the Indiana State Sycamores traveling to Happy Valley, there were questions on the Penn State sidelines concerning who will start under center, QB Matthew McGloin or QB Robert Bolden.  In a 41-7 trouncing of the Sycamores neither Penn State QB shattered any passing records, but Penn State appeared to be more productive and efficient on offense with McGloin calling the shots.  There was nothing Robert Bolden did on the field to show he earned the starting job. The Nittany Lions were slow out of the gate, but when the second half kicked-off...

JoePa taps freshman QB to start

Either freshman QB Robert Bolden is that good or everyone else under center in Happy Valley is just that bad. Coach Joe Paterno is doing something he has never done in Penn State history-starting a freshman QB to open the season. Paterno admitted any of the three QBs could have started, but Bolden had a slight edge over walk-on Matt McGloin and Kevin Newsome. McGloin is more of a one dimensional QB with a strong arm. Newsome has a strong...
