Iowa suffered two losses this past Saturday in Tucson, Arizona. As if  losing 31-24 to the Arizona Wildcats wasn’t enough, the Hawkeyes also lost starting RB Jewel Hampton for the rest of the season, after he tore his ACL in the second half. The first part of this Iowa news series received such a warm reception by Hawkeye Nation, hopefully part two promises more of the same. FedEx announced today that it was ending it’s twenty-one year long sponsorship of the Orange Bowl. FedEx executives decided that it was not in the company’s best financial interest to continue sponsoring the bowl game. The change of heart from FedEx stems from the result of ESPN taking over broadcasting rights of BCS games from FOX Broadcasting Company beginning in 2011.
