According to ShreveportTimes.com, the city of Grambling filed a formal petition to the NCAA requesting that the college governing body vacate some of Joe Paterno’s record 409 Division I victories.  In doing so, this would allow for Grambling’s Coach Eddie Robinson to reclaim college football’s winningest coach crown.  Joe Paterno surpassed Robinson’s 408 victory mark just two weeks before he was fired for his part in the Jerry Sandusky debacle.  Now that the Freeh report exposed Paterno’s role, the city of Grambling wants the record restored to honor...

Joe Paterno reached a historical milestone this evening by defeating Northwestern for his 408th career win tying the late legendary Grambling coach Eddie Robinson for total career victories. Penn State’s 34-24 win was in true Joe Paterno fashion who drew up a well balanced attack on offense and a suffocating run-stopping defense.
