The Arizona State Sun Devils spent over a year in production and design to rebrand ASU athletics. The Sun Devils in a partnership with Nike unveiled all their hard work yesterday to show the collegiate world their new uniforms and designs under the “It’s Time” campaign. Presumably, “It’s Time” refers to ASU’s time to actually start winning and becoming relevant in Pac-10 lore. NCAA says “NO” to Arizona State

Arizona State is coming off of a miraculous win over in-state rival Arizona. After blocking a PAT in double overtime and hoisting the Territorial Cup, the Sun Devils finished the regular season 6-6. According to the NCAA, 6 wins makes you automatically bowl eligible. However, there is one caveat to the rule. If you play two FCS teams (Div. 1-AA) you must have at least 7 wins. Arizona State’s Dennis Erickson stands strong. During the 3rd quarter of today’s game, one of his players, Gerell Robinson, was knocked out of bounds and as a result, accidentally ran into Erickson knocking out the veteran coach. Erickson, albeit a little woozy, got back up, sat on the sidelines, and then continued to coach Arizona State to a 27-14 victory over Washington State.
