It’s getting a little Waco in Texas with Baylor’s Willie Jefferson being dismissed from the team after his second drug charge arrest in less than two weeks. Jefferson was arrested Thursday afternoon in Bell County after a routine traffic stop. Police found in his possession an ounce of “Hydro,” a high-potency form of marijuana, resulting in an arrest for misdemeanor marijuana possession.
Jefferson is no stranger to sitting in the back seat of a police car. Last week (October 3rd), the 19 year-old pot smoker was arrested (along with teammate Josh Gordon) when officers found a small plastic bag of marijuana in his car after he was found passed out at a Waco, Texas Taco Bell drive-through. Incidentally, Jefferson was arrested back in January for misdemeanor possession of marijuana, but no disciplinary action was taken because his case is still pending in Orange County.
It seems bad habits die hard for Jefferson and Coach Art Briles had enough of his idiotic antics and decided that dismissing him from the team was the only viable option at this point. The good news for Jefferson, he will have more time to curb his midnight munchies while smoking his dankity dank without worrying about his teammates or football.
Unfortunately for Baylor, Jefferson was becoming a solid go-to receiver catching 6 passes for 144 yards and 2 TDs in just 17 games. His offensive production will certainly be missed for the 4-2 Bears.
