Dave Christensen and the University of Wyoming have faced tragedy before, but as always, can overcome

Freshman LB Ruben Narcisse, 19, tragically died early Monday morning in a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 287 near Laramie, Wyoming.

The University of Wyoming freshman was a passenger in a vehicle with WR CJ Morgan, CB Trey Fox, and LB JJ Quinlan. According to the police report, Fox fell asleep behind the wheel and struck a rock embankment and a tree at approximately 5:30 a.m. Everyone but Fox was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled down the highway embankment. Narcisse was sitting in the back seat of the 2005 Toyota Tundra and was apparently not wearing a seatbelt when he was ejected from the vehicle. He was airlifted to Loveland, Colorado where he was later pronounced dead. Morgan is still in serious condition and both Quinlan and Fox were treated for minor injuries and released.

Fox was ticketed for careless driving causing death/causing injury and ticketed for no proof of insurance. Authorities say no drugs or alcohol was a factor in the fatal crash.

This is a terrible event and tragic loss for the University of Wyoming and the football community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the players and especially the Narcisse family.
