Senior LB Dustin Doe (6’0, 231lbs) has been suspended by the Gators for his most recent run-in with the law. Doe was arrested on Thursday for driving on a suspended license which is a first-degree misdemeanor.

His license was suspended for failing to pay a traffic ticket on time. Doe ultimately paid the fine, but he was unaware that he was then required to pay a late fee in order to have his license reinstated. Without paying the reinstatement fee, the license remained suspended.

From coach Meyer, “Dustin had been suspended from team activities while resolving his parking ticket issues and driving with a suspended license.” “Those issues have not been taken care of and as a result, he will not be with us when we begin practice on Aug. 6.”

Doe has prior criminal issues. In 2007, Doe was also arrested for an alleged fight but the charges were later dropped.

Doe played in 37 career games with 16 starts. Last season, he started three games at weak-side linebacker and had 30 tackles, 2 1/2 for loss, two pass break-ups and one interception. He had 2 1/2 tackles and a sack in the BCS National Championship game against Oklahoma.
