It’s official: former Alabama quarterback Star Jackson transferred to Georgia State earlier this week and will be a part of the Panthers’ inaugural football season. Even though the redshirt freshman saw some playing time last season with the Tide, he figured he wouldn’t see the field too much with McElroy calling the shots for the defending national champs. Since Jackson transferred to a championship subdivision team he is not required to sit out the 2010 season.
It’s not a guarantee for the Panthers, but Jackson has a good shot at being the starter this season and an even better shot to be under center come November 20th when the Panthers face off against his former team at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
