Boise State gives Chris Petersen 5-year contract

Boise State fans can breath a collective sigh of relief. School officials offered head coach Chris Petersen a new 5-year contract  worth an estimated 8 million dollars. Petersen’s new deal also allows for raises as perks for win totals, along with an automatic extension every time his team wins 8 games.  The Idaho State Board of Education will have to approve the deal, which is expected to pass without any issues.

Petersen has put together an impressive 49-4 record during his tenure as head coach and has had his name come up numerous times for various coaching vacancies. Boise State knows what they have in Petersen and they’re not going to be willing to part with him without a fight.
