Texas Tech Suspends Mike Leach

Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach has been suspended by the university and will not coach the Red Raiders in their Alamo Bowl match-up against Michigan State amid accusations that Leach abused Tech WR Adam James. A source close to the family said James sustained a concussion on Dec. 16, was examined on Dec. 17 and told not to practice due to a concussion and an elevated heart rate. The source said Leach called a trainer and directed him to move James “to the darkest place, to clean out the equipment and to make sure that he could not sit or lean. He was confined for three hours.” James is the son of former collegiate RB and current college football color analyst Craig James.

If true, consider Leach’s run at Texas Tech over. He’d also be the second Big XII coach to get the boot from the conference over alleged player mistreatment. Earlier this month former Kansas head coach Mark Mangino was relieved of his duties after accusations surfaced that he abused his players. This story is still fresh as everyone’s waiting on more information to be released concerning the incident. We’ll continue to stay on top of this and release more information as it comes in. All of you who placed wagers on Tech may want to call your bookies and nix that bet ASAP. This game just got a whole lot more interesting to say the least!
