Fanlands.com launched

If you are a true college football fan and looking for a new way to express your school spirit, fanlands.com may be the site for you. Apparently, if you have $49.99, you can purchase a piece of your favorite team’s virtual field. As of now, Alabama, Penn State, USC, Florida State, Oklahoma State, and South Florida are school’s that have virtual field’s for sale. You must act fast, as there are limited squares for sale per field. For you Nittany Lions fans, the virtual Beaver Stadium has only 5,296 squares remaining as 3 have been sold. As you purchase pieces of your favorite virtual field, you will have more space to communicate your interests (i.e., advertise, talk shop, brag, etc).

Now team fanlands doesn’t want the buyer to feel like this is a scam, so upon each purchase, you will receive a personalized deed that’s “suitable” for framing. As you flaunt this futuristic wave of memorabilia and brag about your savvy virtual real estate investment, your friends will snicker behind your back. But don’t fret, your friends are mocking what they don’t understand.

I’m not sure how I feel about this, but one of team fanlands’ selling points is “we will be partnering with charities that will share in a portion of each purchase. So, by buying a lot for yourself, you are doing something to help out someone less fortunate. And that makes everyone’s day.” This to me is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard. I’m no Don King and I didn’t go to no fancy business school, but this is nonsensical. If you have $49.99, please just give it to a homeless man. That way, you know for sure it will make his day.

However, if you are in the donating mood, I encourage you to purchase some squares and donate them to the The Matador. Thanks!
