Ohio State fans were treated to a visit from former astronaut John Glenn and his wife Annie. The two were awarded the rare honor of dotting the Ohio State Marching Band’s “i” during the halftime festivities. The Cambridge, Ohio native seemed to have a great time and was well received by the 105,000 fans. “This is great and we are enjoying it,” Glenn said. “I had to look up ‘tribble’ in the dictionary because I didn’t know that it is — the ‘dot above an i. “So Annie and I (are) the first co-tribble.”
Glenn was the first American to orbit the earth in his Friendship 7, on February 20, 1962. Later in life, Glenn became involved in politics, serving in the United States Senate from 1974-1999.
