LeGarrette Blount provided the only punch in a game Oregon will never want to talk about or remember. In an act of uncontrollable rage and cowardliness, Blount sucker punched Boise State’s Byron Hout as the clock expired on an 8-19 losing effort for the Ducks. Before kick-off, Blount was jawing at the mouth in the locker room saying Boise State deserves an ass whooping.
After Blount’s lack of talent was exposed throughout the game, he decided to deliver his own ass whooping, one player at a time starting with Hout. Even as Hout went down, Blount continued to instigate by talking trash to the coaches and players around Hout until he was finally escorted out by his teammates and security.

The Matador appreciates hard hitting and strong physical play, but does not encourage violence on the field. I hope Oregon and the NCAA severely punishe Blount. I wonder how Larry Scott, the new Pac 10 commissioner who was at the game, feels about Oregon’s representation of the the school and the conference. Ironically, during a sideline interview, he was praising the Pac-10’s sportsmanship.
