Auburn's RB Eric Smith (#32) running the ball against Louisiana Monroe

Auburn’s RB Eric Smith was arrested this morning at the Lexington Hotel in Auburn. According to Auburn Police, Smith was arrested for disorderly conduct. The police report indicates the arrest occurred at 1:42 a.m. Smith was sober and did not resist when transported to Lee County Detention Center.

Smith was slated to back-up Senior Ben Tate. Last season Smith played in 12 games as a true freshman and rushed for 83 yards.

Coach Chizik will address the media regarding this issue later this afternoon.
