Kyle Parker Is Clemson's Man

Clemson announced today that redshirt freshman Kyle Parker will start at quarterback for the Tigers. Parker competed with Wille Korn for the starting job during the spring in a tight race that left many fans unsure of who would get the nod. Korn, who was highly touted coming out of high school, has the most experience out of the two but Parker had an impressive spring game that seemed to sway the coaching staff’s decision heading into the fall.

Parker is also a standout baseball player for the Tiger baseball team. Even though Parker will be the starting QB, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney insists that Willie Korn will see substantial playing time often during the season. Both are good quarterbacks and it wouldn’t surprise me to see Korn taking over as the starter at some point in the season.
