Ole Miss is back at it again. Top recruit and signee Darius “Tig” Barksdale (6’0, 190 lbs.) was arrested for DUI and driving without a license yesterday morning (August 6th) in Batesville, Mississippi. He was initially pulled over when the Batesville police were searching for a stolen vehicle.

When pulled over, the police automatically smelled the alcohol permeating through the Mississippi air.  When asked about the vehicle, he claimed he was borrowing his friend’s car. Not satisfied with the answer and with the detection of alcohol, the police administered a field sobriety test, which TIG failed. He ultimately blew a .114.

As of now, Tig’s friend will not press any charges regarding the “borrowed” vehicle. However, he will have to face state criminal charges for the DUI.

His status on the team remains to be seen since he technically is not a Rebel for academic reasons. Nutts’ reaction is basically supportive.
