Jessica Dorrell and Coach Bobby Petrino's inappropriate relationship have come into question.

Despite what happens off the field, if you win 21 games in two seasons, fans will support you wholeheartedly, at least if you are Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino.  Ever since the infamous motorcycle accident in which Petrino was anything but truthful, the university placed him on administrative leave causing a stir amongst the Razorback Nation. So much so, loyal fans have cried out to save Petrino’s job.

As the facts surrounding the motorcycle accident and inappropriate relationship with 25-year old Arkansas football employee Jessica Dorrell surface, calls to question arose as to whether athletic director Jeff Long should reinstate the university’s beloved coach.  In an attempt to sway Long, the Razorback Nation created a Facebook page to rally support for coach Petrino in which over 8,600 members have joined “Team Save Coach Petrino.”  Additionally, there is a rally planned for tonight at 7:00 pm at the Broyles Center parking lot.

As quoted by the group’s organizer, Matt Couch stated “It’s a great week for forgiveness, with it being the Easter weekend. We want to forgive, forget and win.”

It is clear Couch, among the rest of the Razorback Nation, is focused on winning, who cares that Petrino was having an affair, lied about the accident, lied to his school and players, and lied to himself.  Petrino should be a role model, and winning games is only part of the big picture, not the only picture.

The question remains, if coach Petrino did not have 22 wins in two seasons, would his infidelity and lack of veracity garner this type of support?
