If it’s not Michael Vick headlining the police blotter, it’s his brother Marcus Vick making the front page. Newport News Circuit Judge David Pugh issued an arrest warrant earlier today for the former Virginia Tech football star Marcus Vick for failing to turn himself in to the Newport News City Jail. Vick was court ordered to report to jail by 5 p.m. on Monday to serve his 10 day sentence for contempt of court. However, Vick never showed up.
Vick’s sentence stems from his failure to appear on two separate occasions on charges of driving on a suspended license in the Newport News area. Vick is no stranger to the law as he was previously convicted in 2006 for disorderly conduct; convicted in 2008 for driving under the influence and eluding police; and in 2009, was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
