Missouri football coach Gary Pinkel, who was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving Wednesday night, clearly had trouble with his sobriety test. As you can see from police video footage, Pinkel couldn’t recite the alphabet from “E” to “R” and refused to count backwards when asked. Though he was mostly cooperative with the officer, it wasn’t enough go get him a warning.
It appears he misjudged his “two glasses of wine.” Missouri suspended Pinkel for Saturday’s game against Texas Tech. Pinkel pled guilty to the DWI charges on Thursday and the judge sentenced him to 30-days suspended sentence and two years probation. It remains to be seen how Missouri will ultimately deal with Pinkel.
