LeBron James returned to his former high school to practice with the varsity football team.

With the NBA lockout threating to cancel the entire season, players are finding creative ways to stay busy or perhaps consider career changes. Yesterday, Miami Heat superstar LeBron James returned to his roots and was spotted at his alma mater St. Vincent-St Mary High School practicing with the third ranked Division III varsity football team.

James hit the gridiron in full gear sporting the #13 jersey, wearing shoulder pads, helmet, and a visor. His athletic talent was apparent impressing coaches, players, and fans on the offensive side of the ball catching everything thrown his way (James did not participate in any contact drills).

After a an hour of practice, he tweeted:

Just got done practicing with the St.V Varsity football team, full pads and all.. Felt great being back on the field. Should I?

According to several players on the high school varsity football team, James was running the proper routes and hauling in every ball thrown to him. Perhaps he can take his talent to the NFL’s Cleveland Browns or maybe the Miami Dolphins. I’m sure Colt McCoy and the Brown’s faithful wouldn’t mind utilizing his services for a season.

James was an all-state wide receiver at St. V and scouts remarked that he had the talent to play at the next level.
