College football lives, and dies, here

When you are about to be executed for committing a heinous crime, the State generally grants you a few last requests most particularly with food and last words. Some people choose ribs smothered with onions, others go for a six pack of Dr. Pepper, but for this man, Jeffrey Landrigan, who was executed last night in Arizona for the brutal murder of Chester Dean Dyer, he wanted to dine on some fried okra, french fries, steak, and some strawberry...

It’s no secret that the world is trying to keep up with the United States when it comes to basketball. From passing, to shooting, to high-flying dunks, USA basketball is second to none. What is most puzzling is when other countries adopt other aspects of the game, such as fighting. During a friendly game between China and Brazil, China’s coach became irate with the officiating after a hard Brazilian foul. It’s no surprise that the Chinese hate to lose. So...

It’s finally the weekend and I’m ready to recover from all the draining office melodrama. To do this, I follow in the steps of the Holy Tim Tebow–chill in my hyperbaric chamber. I wonder if JoePa has one too. I mean heaven forbid if you ask him if he is going to die. Paterno is going to coach forever, period, end of sentence. It seems there will always be agent issues at the big time programs that neither the NCAA nor...

It’s a god awful hot Friday in the east coast but I’m so thankful there are lunch options available that prevent me from having to go outside in this miserable heat.  For some sports entertainment, check out SI’s hotclicks, other than that, here is a look at what is going on in the college football world. Maurkice Pouncey still denies he received any cash benifits during his Gator days. You have to love this quote from Nick Saban during the SEC media...

A rare earthquake struck the D.C metro area earlier this morning, but that didn’t keep TheMatadorSports from providing you with all your Friday afternoon links to help get you through the rest of the day. After years of debate and drunken arguments, this picture is very telling and should put to rest the Miami v. Ohio State controversial interference call. Troubled (using the term lightly) QB  Jeremiah Masoli is now considering transferring to Hawaii. I say go for it, the mainland could use a...
