Georgia Bulldog sidelined

With the AutoZone Liberty Bowl set to kick-off today in Memphis, the Georgia injury report grew a little longer with the unusual addition of Uga VIII. The team’s mascot will miss the bowl game and all festivities due to gastro-intestinal illness. Uga VIII does have a viable back-up in Russ who was the team’s interim mascot after Uga VII passed away. Russ is no stranger to back-up duties as he has already filled-in for six games this season and...

The Big 10 flexes its muscles

Looking back before last season, the Big 10 failed miserably come post-season play. However, this season the Big 10 is looking very strong despite struggles from yester-year. On Tuesday, Iowa took down #12 Missouri 27-24 in the Insight Bowl and on Wednesday Illinois, surprising to some, dominated Baylor 38-14 in the Texas Bowl. The conference is starting to show that it is finally out of its slump and returning back to elite status. To the true fan, this turn-around...

A doobie-ous honor

Iowa’s RB Adam Robinson was just charged with marijuana possession confirming a court date on January 5th and placing his Hawkeyes career in limbo. Monday night, Robinson was a passenger in a vehicle that was cruising around Des Moines that was pulled over at about 10:45 p.m. on East 4th Street for failing to have a front license plate. Air Force: the better option

Air Force schooled Georgia Tech in old-fashioned style football beating the Yellow Jackets 14-7 in the Advocare 100 Independence Bowl. The Falcons ran the option to perfection much to the delight of the Shreveport faithful. Falcons QB Tim Jefferson handed the ball off to six different backs for a combined 170 yards. Meanwhile, Jefferson would keep the Yellow Jackets’ defense honest by completing 11 passes for 117 yards. Georgia Tech’s defense played stellar holding the Falcons aerial attack to...

Academics hamper Bulldogs

The Georgia Bulldogs (6-6) arrived in Memphis yesterday in preparation for the Liberty Bowl against Central Florida. Unfortunately, it was not a full flight as running back Caleb King, CB Derek Owens, and OT A.J. Harmon will not be collecting frequent flier miles because they were all deemed academically ineligible to participate in post-season play. Though King had a subpar junior campaign, being sidelined is still a significant loss for head coach Mark Richt as he is the team’s...

The JoePa email, is his legacy coming to an end?

This email is apparently circulating the web, is the Outback Bowl Joe Paterno’s coaching finale? There is a lot going on with PSU and the first email way below sums most of it up. can fill you in, but it’s almost certain that the Outback Bowl will be Joe’s last game. He has some major health issues including a frequency of mini strokes called TIAs and possible intestinal cancer. He is not in good shape, sorry to say,...

Wanted: Die-hard Nebraska Fans

In another indication that the NCAA over indulges in bowl revenue capacity, the Nebraska Cornhuskers can’t give away Holiday Bowl tickets. As a Holiday Bowl participant, Nebraska is required to sell or purchase 11,000 tickets per their allotment agreement. As of today, only 7,500 have been sold. This means Nebraska is on the hook for $210,000.00. Well it doesn’t take one with a business and marketing degree to see why Nebraska can’t sell their share of tickets. Here is...
