Uga VIII is a scratch for the Liberty Bowl
With the AutoZone Liberty Bowl set to kick-off today in Memphis, the Georgia injury report grew a little longer with the unusual addition of Uga VIII. The team’s mascot will miss the bowl game and all festivities due to gastro-intestinal illness. Uga VIII does have a viable back-up in Russ who was the team’s interim mascot after Uga VII passed away. Russ is no stranger to back-up duties as he has already filled-in for six games this season and two last season.
Superstitious Bulldog fans need not worry, Russ has prior bowl experience as he was with the team during last year’s victory over Texas A&M in the Independence Bowl.
