College Football Committee meets as Season Nears

The College Football Committee concluded meetings this week as the 2015 season is less than a month away.  The committee was very pleased with last season and hopes for a successful 2015 campaign. The committee, among other things, reviewed and discussed the time schedule for the weekly rankings with the first rankings coming Tuesday, November 3 on ESPN.  The final rankings will air on December 6. Last week, a federal judge preliminarily approved an antitrust claim against Electronic Arts (EA) for monopolizing a partnerships with the National Football League, the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and the Arena Football League with respect to its branded interactive football games.  The settlement amounts to $27 million and EA must release its exclusivity rights for certain football games.  With its marketing exclusivity, EA was able to gauge customers by hiking up the prices without facing any competition from other...
