Last year, Ryan Mallett passed on the NFL draft to play another season at Arkansas. After suffering a 31-26 loss to Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl, Mallet has had enough of college ball and is looking for a pro career. It looks like the Razorbacks’ junior QB will declare for the NFL draft and forgo his final season at Arkansas.
Mallett has had an interesting collegiate career starting with a short stint at the University of Michigan and then transferring to Arkansas when the Wolverines announced Rich Rodriguez would be the new coach. Mallett wanted to play in a more pro-style offense thus transferred to Bobby Petrino’s Razorbacks.
This move proved to be worthwhile as Mallett broke the school record for most TD passes in a season (30) last year and improved on that number with 32 TDs this season. His career total of 62 TDs is a school record. He brought the Razorbacks back to the national spotlight with a BCS birth this season.
Mallett is a gunslinger with a cannon for an arm and should have no problem finding success on Sundays.
