The better the bowl, the better the gifts.

With bowl season underway and corporate sponsors set to make millions of dollars off of premier but often broke college athletes, the NCAA does allow players to receive gifts, up to $500.00, from their respective bowl host. Despite a down economy, this year’s list doesn’t disappoint.

Some highlights include a $420.00 shopping spree at Best Buy (Capital One Bowl), a $250.00 Best Buy Gift Card (Chick-Fil-A bowl), and a Nikon S70 touch screen camera package (GoDaddy.Com bowl). Most bowls, including the BCS bowls, have gift suites in which players are given an order form and can select gifts up to $500.00 in value. Additionally, players get gift bags, watches, rings, and clothing branded with the bowl logo.
