If you are looking for a new job, get your resume updated and ready as Kentucky State University is searching for a replacement head football coach.
Fred Farrier was let go after four sub-par seasons with the Thorobreds (yes, this is the correct spelling). Kentucky State went 19-25 under Farrier, including 3-8 marks the past two seasons. The State-Journal in Frankfort reports Farrier was notified by athletic director Denisha Hendricks of the move over the weekend. Farrier said he was shocked by the decision.
“It was a shock,” he said. “It was definitely not something I saw coming. I thought we had a great opportunity for a good season in 2009.”
I’m not sure what he was thinking, but back-to-back 3-8 seasons just doesn’t cut it for anyone regardless of what division you are coaching.
For those that don’t know, the Thorobreds are members of NCAA’s Division II and they open the season on Aug. 29th at 12:00 p.m. at home against the Stillman Tigers with or without a head coach.
