Maurice Clarett (#13) returns to tOSU to start fresh as a full-time student

After serving a 3.5 year prison stint in Toledo, Ohio, Fiesta Bowl hero Maurice Clarett re-enrolled on Monday at The Ohio State University to pursue his degree in criminology. Though Clarett said in a statement that he does not want to be a “distraction or nuisance” to the football team or university, he has to know he certainly will.

At the very least, there is an ex-con roaming around campus who was busted for carrying a concealed weapon and having four loaded guns in his SUV after a long drawn police chase. With his failed NFL career as a Denver Bronco, the Ohio State star RB was left in heavy debt which landed him in connection with certain armed robberies and ultimately the demise of his football career.

Clarett is excited to return to OSU as a student to start anew. Hopefully, he will get his life back on track and become a productive member of society. Being on early release (his sentence was 7.5 years), he has very little room to make any mistakes while a free man.

Here at TheMatador, we are big fans of rehabilitation and believe people do deserve a second chance and Maurice Clarett is taking the proper steps to stay out of jail.
