Pete Carroll left USC at the perfect time.

Pete Carroll, the former USC head coach, is starting to feel a little remorse for certain Reggie Bush events that took place during his tenure that left the program with a two year bowl ban and a loss of 30 scholarships. But as he was addressing the media during his book tour, you got the sense that he believes he didn’t do anything wrong and he maintains the school was unfairly punished. He also reiterated that he did not leave USC because of the wave of sanctions that were about to come down on the program.

The reality is we will never know the real truth, but Carroll wisely left a lot of questions unanswered with the intentions of boosting his book sales, “Win Forever, Live, Work, and Play like a Champion.” After all, when there is money to be made, you strike while the iron is hot.

“I do feel responsible being connected with it [USC sanctions],”

“There’s nothing I can do about that now,” Carroll told the AP. “The games were won. The challenges and accomplishments are all in the books. We stand behind all those efforts.”

If you are seeking his John Hancock, Carroll will be at the downtown Bellevue Barnes & Noble (626 106th Ave, NE) on July 23rd at 7 pm for his book signing tour. Please note that he will only sign his book and NO sports memorabilia.
