Living on a prayer

Rather than passing the pigskin, Denham will be handing out bread.

Most college football seniors enter their final collegiate season with aspirations to play on Sundays. Much to the chagrin of Coach Bob Biggs, U.C. Davis QB Greg Denham is taking a different approach as he enters his senior year. Denham is quitting the team, trading his playbook for the bible.

The 6’3 star QB has accumulated strong numbers as a three year starter for the Aggies. He has thrown for 6,435 yards with 46 TDs. He was honored twice being named to the All-Great West Conference team. However, all these accolades were not enough. He is trading it all in to pursue a career in ministry.

Denham grew up in a church, his father is a pastor. It should be no surprise to anyone, including Coach Biggs, that he desires to follow in his father’s footsteps. Unfortunately for the Aggies, their QB depth chart is not deep putting the Aggies and Coach Biggs behind the eight ball entering the summer months.

Here at TheMatadorSports.com we want to wish Denham the best in his last Hail Mary.
